Winter in San Cassiano

For a winter holiday in San Cassiano, you walk from Planat to the lifts. Here is where you set off from, what we have checked, how to choose the apartment, and what to know for Christmas and New Year.

02Start

Where you set off

Planat is a private house in San Cassiano, in Alta Badia, in the Val Badia valley, in the Dolomites. Five independent holiday apartments, each with a private sauna and parking included.

The Piz Sorega lifts are a 2-minute walk; the way back is uphill. The centre of the village is a walk of about ten minutes.

03Skiing

Skiing and lifts

The Piz Sorega cable car starts in San Cassiano and links the village to the Dolomiti Superski ski area, according to the official village page. Alta Badia is part of the Dolomiti Superski and of the Sellaronda circuit. From the house the lifts are a 2-minute walk; the way back is uphill.

San Cassiano also has the Alta Badia cross-country skiing centre. Lift openings, hours and ski passes are those of the official operators: the official pages are at the foot of this page.

04The apartments

The apartments, in winter

Every apartment has a kitchenette, a private bathroom and a private sauna, for the end of a day on skis. There is a ski room, and parking is included, right at the house; in winter we recommend winter tyres or snow chains. In the shared garden and play area there is room for children, who are welcome.

05Holidays

Christmas and New Year

For Christmas and New Year the same facts hold as for the rest of the winter: the lifts are a 2-minute walk, the way back is uphill, the village centre is a walk of about ten minutes. The holiday calendar changes every year: events and openings are those published in the official Alta Badia calendar.

For the Planat apartments, choose your dates in the booking calendar to see availability and the price of the stay. If you have a question about your stay you can write or call; whoever welcomes you answers.
